I'm going to go check my daughter out of her old school today and bring her home. Two years ago her brother had a fight with his dad and left angrily to come and stay with me. I was in a huge state of transition and was in no way prepared to have him move in with me but of course I couldn't tell him no. Part of me wishes I had asked him to wait because a couple of months later he chose to go back, having manipulated his dad into all sorts of compromises by leaving. Our relationship suffered for a while. Recently I told him that IF he wanted to come back again he would need to do what his sister had done and make a plan and talk to everyone about it.
I'm rambling now but the point of this entry is that today is the day my daughter comes to live with me again and I'm so happy about that.
